After spending 3 years working with Anheuser-Busch in sales, marketing and operations, Richard Park decided he wanted to change gears. Park claims there was an itch he needed to satisfy that revolved around exercising his entrepreneurial muscle and a desire to create a product he was proud of with his own hands. This led Park to enrol in the Niagara College Teaching Brewery Brewmaster & Brewery Operations program.
Upon completing the program Park would quickly find work joining the team at Old Flame Brewing Co. where he leads the ‘Bru Cru’ Production Team as the Brewmaster and Chief of Staff. Combining his managerial experience in the brewing industry from his days at Labatt with the technical skill set acquired at NC, Park found success and the opportunity to experiment at Old Flame Brewing Co.
“It’s hard not to be inspired at the Niagara-on-the-Lake campus – it very much feels like a real-life version of Hogwarts. You have brewing students, culinary students, viticulture students, horticulture students – the campus is literally filled with people making stuff! Being around creators fosters a sense of audacity to try anything and everything. No sense of judgment, just experiment.”
